This happens fairly often. It is what comes with having an OB. Just
remember that you could be the next one that he is delivering when he is
sending other patients home. At 38 weeks a baby is considered full term
and there is no reason to worry. You could always call him and talk
with him over the phone if you cannot see him. Does he not have any one
else in his practice that can see you? Stay calm and keep in mind that
this is what happens with the unpredictability of having babies.
