I woul not have even tried to hear a heart beat this early. Sometimes in ideal conditons we can hear one at 10-11 weeks, but not a 9+ weeks. DOn't be concerned. In your case, especially because of your uterine tilt, I wouldn't be alarmed if the ob had a hard time hearing anything at 12 weeks.
