4 weeks pregnant- some questionsFrom: Janet (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 16 Jul 2001 10:10:09 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I just found out that I'm pregnant, finally, after 14 months of trying. My first appointment isn't until Aug. 30 and I have some questions. I have asthma, which is under control with Pulmacort and Albuterol. Those medications were selected for me with the understanding that I was trying to become pregnant. Now that I am pregnant, should I make an appointment to see my asthma doctor? Is it all right to use a topical scalp medication to control flaking? The medicine is Betamethasone Valerate Lotion USP, 0.1%? I know that I have Group B Strep. Is this something that needs to be monitored before my Aug. 30th appointment? Last, but not least, I know that pregnant women shouldn't have dental work done. Is it all right to floss my teeth if the gums bleed or could that lead to problems? Thank you for your time and for this wonderful service. I really appreciate the piece of mind.
