Lead and Organic solventsFrom: Bette (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 14 Jul 2001 01:53:13 -0500 (CDT)
I will be starting clomid in August and wanted to know if I should wait. I work with Lead Paste (a creamey form of lead solder) and aliphatic hydrocarbons / organic solvents. I am exposed to these daily and often get the Paste on my arms and hands (which I quickly wipe off) I use the organic solvent wipes (which I have in my hand for less than 2 minutes) often, to remove the solder paste from our working surfaces. I have talked to our occupational health nurse and she said that the exposure is so minimal that I shouldn't worry and there would be no potential harm to a fetus. Are there any tests I can get done just to give myself peace of mind? Thanks,
