'shaken brain' in utero??From: Kristy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 13 Jul 2001 19:04:05 -0500 (CDT)
When I had my level II ultrasound done, the MFM doc was trying to get my baby girl to move her hands away from her face so he could check for a cleft palate. About six or more times, he shook my belly. Normally this wouldn't bother me, but he shook it *really* hard and I saw the baby shaking back and forth rather violently. I watched it again on the video they gave me and became alarmed because her little head was bouncing back and forth so fast. I am aware that the amniotic fluid is quite protective, but he really shook me hard. Is there any way my baby could have been harmed, or worst of all - gotten "shaken brain" syndrome in utero? I hope you can help ease my concerns. Love, Kristy B.
