Stacia, It is your type of case that present somewhat of a cunumdrum in this strep issue. You are correct that to have a beneficial effect, one must receive antibiotics in labor. We don't have the answer to patients with a history of fast labor and a positive culture. There are some trials ongoing using a long acting penicillin injection for folks with your history of fast labor. I would discuss the options with your physician. Induction is certainly one option...
