breastfeeding & arthritisFrom: Janet (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 11 Jul 2001 10:53:50 -0500 (CDT)
Hi, I went to my doctor yesterday for my six week check. I had slight carpal tunnel before I got pregnant. When I became pregnant it got worse. Now after having the baby it's almost unbearable. The pain is bad and there is a bone sticking out. I told my doctor and she told me that was from nursing. when I nurse the baby there is no estrogen and that is causing the problem. She told me that they could treat the symptoms with anti-inflammatory medicine. I was taking Ibuprofen and it didn't work. I want to nurse for a year and am very afraid that I will have to stop because the pain is getting severe. What can I do? And why is this happening to me? I had three other children and never had anything like this before. thanks so much for your answers in advance.
