It is very confusing as they start counting on the first day of your LMP, so the first two weeks of pregnancy are actually before you even conceive! If you would have conceived in the middle of May, you would be more like almost 9 weeks. With my first baby, I conceived on June 16th (exactly as it was via IUI) and was due on March 8th so it sounds like your doctor is assuming you conceived in June, not May. But that would place you in the 5 week range, which is too early to see a heartbeat on u/s.

Do you know if your doc got the dates off the u/s measurement or based it purely on your LMP? If you had an irregular cycle, they should go on the u/s measurement. Particularly if there is no way you could have conceived in June (no sex).

Good luck to you. I wouldn't worry about the heartbeat at this point. I would, however, find out how they came up with your dates.
