Cholestasis of pregnancyFrom: AC (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 8 Jul 2001 10:54:37 -0500 (CDT)
Can you please give me any info that you have on cholestasis of pregnancy? How necessary is it to deliver a baby at 36 wks if you're diagnosed with it and the non-stress test is showing that the baby is in great shape? I don't know the name of the test, but on one test done my levels showed 285 and when it was done 2 days later it showed 320 and the norm is 100 I am told. The bile salts test isn't back yet and I'm told that that is the one that will tell definitively if I have cholestasis of pregnancy. What is your oppinion on delivering a baby at 36 wks....if all goes well with the baby and there continues to be no distress, can we wait a week or 2 or is there a chance something could happen suddenly and fetal demise could result? Please let me know asap. Thank you for your time
