Daniel Braun, MD: "Re: contraction confusion" I am very confused. I am 34 1/2 weeks along and on bedrest for PIH and early effacement. I went to the hospital last night for bad cramping in my back and pelvic region and I am 2 cm dilated, 80%effaced and -1 station. When I have these cramps I don't always feel a tightening and they don't always show up strongly on the monitors. How is it that I am progressing like this if I am not feeling what typical contractions should feel like (as far as what I was told? Because of this I am scared that I will be in labor and not really realize it. I know it sounds kind of stupid. Any info would help. Thanks. -- Amber Next message: R.
