'She came with a bang'From: Tency (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 5 Jul 2001 18:10:22 -0500 (CDT)
I just wanted to let everyone know that I had my baby girl yesterday (July 4). She is beautiful and doing great. Aside from having been born on Independance Day, she really did come with a bang. I spent the morning in the hospital having gels done because my uric acid levels were up. I was not in labor when I left the hospital, but because I have a history of precipitous labor (1 hour 45 minutes with first child), my husband and I decided to check into the hotel next door to the hospital (otherwise, I live 45 minutes away). Anyway, I went into labor at the hotel, and because the labor was so hard and fast quite suddenly, I was unable to leave and my husband delivered my daughter on the floor in the hotel room. Labor, from start to finish was 25 minutes and the baby was born after only 3 pushes. She was a whoppng 9lbs 2oz, and amazingly, I did not tear!!! Anyway, although I would NEVER recommend this kind of birth setting to anyone, I can say that by the grace of God, all turned out well. Thank you so much to all of the medical professionals and other mothers who answered so many of my questions. You all have been wonderful, and I very much appreciate your time, and the service you so generously provide to all of us. Best wishes to all, Tency
