Ovary not working?

I'm hoping someone can offer an opinion. I have only R. fallopian tube. I had an HSG done last year which at that time it was open. OPKs are(+). Doing BD every day around (+) time. Due to very sensitive ovaries, I'm very positive that I'm only ovulating on the L. side. What would cause only 1 ovary to work? I thought they were supposed to alternate. Everyone keeps telling me that the R. tube would pick up an egg from the other side, but this hasn't been the case for at least 7 cycles. I'm devastated because I just ovulated with concurrent pain, again, my L. side. I've been told I'm not a candidate for IVF because I do have 1 open tube, EWCM, +OPK. What, if any, other options do I have? How long would it take for one to conceive via the "opposites attracts" route? Thank you.
