possibility of incompetent cervix?From: sarah (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 1 Jul 2001 17:30:39 -0500 (CDT)
I am currently 15 weeks pregnant. Due to past complications I have been paranoid about miscarrying. I had a Lletz loop cervical biopsy in December 2000. I have read that operations on the cervix increase the risk of miscarrying due to an incompetent cervix. What are the chances? Also, Is it possible for the dr to make checks to see if the cervix is beginning to open? And, if this is possible, and they see that it is opening, is there anything they can do to save the pregnancy? Answers from doctors would be extremely appreciated. Just another quick question too (sorry to go on) but I wake up most mornings with quite a strong pain in my lower abdomen which passes when I go to the toilet. Is it normal to feel pain from having a full bladder/intestine? Thank you.
