I am curious as to what is involved with becoming a a certified consultant. Can you briefly share with me the training involved, does one need to be an RN first? Where do you start with taking courses for this field? I am interested in the field and not sure where to begin. I breastfed my childen long term and want to explore the field. If you don't mind sharing, what is the average salary for a lactation consultant?
