32 Weeks with One Swollen FootFrom: DeeAnn (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 29 Jun 2001 23:08:11 -0500 (CDT)
I hurt my ankle in a fall last weekend, and it hurt to walk on it but looked fine. Now, my foot has swollen up like a balloon and is kind of numb. My doctor is on vacation, but his nurse practioner said that it was a combination of the accident and being 32 weeks pregnant with lots of blood flow. All she suggested was that I elevate it and sleep only on my left side. Can this be a sign of pre-eclampsia, even though it's only one leg and my blood pressure has been great the entire pregnancy. Yesterday, it was 122/68. I'm just concerned because it seems to be getting bigger and numb. Just curious. Thanks for your time. :)
