You could have conceived on the later date, thus not as far along as you think. The pregnancy could be a poor conception, in other words not producing appropriate HCG levels. It may also be that your system is such that the testing done via any hpt will be late in showing a positive. As to why I feel it is impossible to have a "normal" ovulation on cycle day 8, using the first day of menstrual flow as day 1 is because physiologically, follicular recruitment and development in the follicular phase of the cycle takes longer that this. Now there are many potentials for causing confusion in this case. One would be bleeding that isn't really a period, but one believes it is a period, therefore messing up timing, etc... Lynn
