Nuchal fold thicknessFrom: Chris (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 27 Jun 2001 11:25:12 -0500 (CDT)
I am 35 years old and lost my first child at term 4 mos ago to unknown causes (did chromo tests). I am currently 10.5 weeks. At 6 weeks, ny hCG started to drop so we expected a miscariage, but it hasn't happened. The baby is growing normally and the heartrate is normal. However, a u/s yesterday showed a nuchal fold thickness of 4 mm. My doctor said that is way too high, so we are scheduled for an early amnio in 3 weeks. Have my chances of Down's just soared? What are the percentages based on my age and the thickness? I am terrified of losing another child!
