'Measurement' at 6 weeks

When I went to the doctor, we figured out I was 5 weeks 5 days by my lmp. My doctor indicated that she might not be able to "see anything" yet (measurement wise) during the internal exam.

After the exam she confirmed that I wasn't really measuring yet, but that my cervix was a bluish color and my uterus felt soft.

Is it normal to not be "measuring" yet at this point?
