Katt - I don't know if it's a cost/insurance issue or what, but just based on the experiences of me and my friends, it seems like many doctors do a 20-week u/s routinely on every pregnancy while others will only order one if there is cause for concern from symptoms/measurements/tests. Also, some clinics don't have them in-house so they have to refer out to a radiology clinic/center. I have had some friends request them from their doctors and some will then do one and others still refuse. You should certainly ask about it at your appointment or even call earlier just to see.

In the mean time, I would relax. If your doctor had any reason to be concerned, he/she would have done one.
