Dear BethAnn

This is a tough topic. There are so many conflicting stories out on the web about what age a baby can be resuscitated. I myself had a baby born 23 weeks into my pregnancy and they did not intervene at all, it was a level 3 NICU.. That was 7 yrs ago and advances in NICU has occurred. Nowadays you can read all kinds of claims by women that their baby was born 23 weeks into their pregnancy making their babies actually 21 by gestational dating. I personally do not believe these claims but seeing pictures does make it hard to dispute. I do believe babies at 23 weeks gestation survive, but not 23 weeks by a womens actual pregnancy week 21 weeks gestational).

All NICU's have different capabilites so its hard to judge whether or not a hospital handled a preemie the same as another womens case.

Here is a site I came across that was launched May 31 of this yr. It has preemie info and support. I also included the link to personal stories posted on the site as well. The stories just keep getting earlier and earlier.
