External yeast infectionFrom: Tanya (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 18 Jun 2001 10:51:31 -0500 (CDT)
I am 37.5 weeks and have suddenly developed intense itching/redness externally. The itching is at the top near the clitoris and between the labium majus/labium minus (where the pubic hair meets the soft tissue). I haven't seen any significant vaginal disharge but in the area described above, the soft tissue will accumulate a whitish coating. I have started to apply miconazole and it seems to be helping. Can a yeast infection be externally only? Thank you for your response.
