Q skipped below - ENDOMETRIAL BIOPSYFrom: Jane (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 17 Jun 2001 23:36:09 -0500 (CDT)
I underwent an endometrial biopsy on Friday and my OB said the results would tell us a lot about my hormone levels. How exactly can they tell what your hormone levels are by looking at some endometrial cells? What else can an endometrial biopsy reveal? Would an emb be able to tell the doctor if I have a high level of testosterone and other androgens that are common in pcos? I also know that an emb can reveal how many days past ovulation you are, but would it also be able to detect whether ovulation was imminent or whether you had just ovulated that day? The OB said my cervix was wide open which I know can happen during ovulation. The day after my emb, I saw a thermal shift in my bbts which indicates that I could possibly have ovulated on the day of my procedure. Thanks in advance!
