I still remember my first prenatal visit. I was 23 and didn't know what to expect. I was lucky. I had an excellent Nurse-Midwife who was part of the group at the Air Force base where I was stationed. She took alot of time and answered all of my questions. She explained everything that was happening to me and even used a mirror to show me the changes in my cervix.

As for the u/s, I did not have one early on until this pregnancy (my first two pregnancies the u/s's were done at 20 weeks). I had a irregular period in Dec. (one day of light spotting). So, an indo-vaginal(sp?) u/s was used to determine my EDD.
