Re: PregnantFrom: Andrea (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 7 Jun 2001 14:44:59 -0500 (CDT)
Heya! Well, I think the first thing to realize is that you may not have to make any decisions about what to do regarding the pregnancy RIGHT NOW THIS VERY INSTANT. You sound like you just found out, so you probably aren't that far along? You have a bit of breathing room to decide what you want to do, if so. What I personally would try to do (and I know it is hard, you sound like you are having a tough time), is take a deep breath, (or two :)) try to calm down a bit, and go to the phone and make an appointment with a Dr or clinic to talk about it. From what I have read (and what I gathered from what Dr Braun said earlier), is that the chance of defects isn't all that much higher than the general population. But I think you really need to talk to someone who can counsel you face-to-face. -Andrea
