I saw a national news story on a case where the baby attached to the outside of the uterus (it was within the last year that I saw the story on the TV). It was not detected until later in the pregnancy and from the story everything went well but the doctor's commented that it was extremely dangerous. I know the baby and mom were OK since they showed video and interviewed the parents.
