High risk pregnancyFrom: Lori (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 31 May 2001 17:36:32 -0500 (CDT)
I just got back from my appointment with my Dr. and noticed on the diagnosis sheet that she marked off high risk pregnancy. I am currently 11 weeks pregnant and have had 2 spotting episodes in total (at 7 and 8 weeks). During the first episode thre was just a drop of red/brown blood. The second time there was a light to moderate amount of blood. After each episode an ultrasound was performed and everything looked great with a heartbeat of 162 and 180. She said that the blood must be coming from the cervix because she couldn't find the source of it on the ultrasound. Since then I've had a yellow discharge with every once in a while a possibly very very scant amount of pink in it. Today she did a super quick ultrasound and everything looked great. My questions are: Why is this considered a high risk pregnancy? At this point in time what are my chances of having a miscarriage? If I don't have another bleeding episode, what will be my chances of having a miscarriage after the first trimester. Thank you for your response.
