Obese and PregnancyFrom: jcarter (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 30 May 2001 12:28:34 -0500 (CDT)
I know that being overweight is not a good thing, when trying to conceive, but I had my son in 1999, and I am currently the same weight now that I was when I conceived him. (give or take 10 pounds.) I am currently 230 pounds and am 5'8. I have not had a period since March, and I have a dr. appt. in June. I have a few symptoms of pregnancy, but all hpt have been negative. I have accepted the fact that I am indeed not pregnant, due to all the hpt results, but I was wondering if hpt's are affected by weight. I read somewhere where 3 women did not test positive to a hpt and it was due to their weight problem. Is this true? Also, I have numbness in my left arm. It runs from the inner side of my arm, from the elbow to the tip of my pinky finger. Why is this, and is this a sign of pregnancy, or something worse that I need to be aware of. (it started a couple of weeks ago.) Thanks in advance for your advice. --Jennifer
