Marchbein, M.D.: "Re: fibroid --action or inaction" I just turned 43 and have a very large fibroid on a stalk outside my uterus. I had this huge fibroid (it was mistaken for my baby's head) during my last pregnancy. That pregnancy required a c-section but went well. I now would like to get pregnant again. My doctor would like me to have the fibroid removed first. Is it necessary? My insurance will not pay for the operation and I don't know if the risks of the operation are that much less than the risk of pregnancy with the fibroid?
