Hi! I am not a doc, but you asked if a spinal tap hurt and it hurt some when they give you the shots that numb you and then they stick a long needle in your back. The problem that I had was that I had the most excruciating headache for the next week and eventually had to have a blood patch (blood from me injected into my back) to get rid of it.
