Kelly Shanahan, MD, : "Re: tightening and sinking feeling" I am on my 6th pregnancy. I have had 5 full term babies, 2 of which were c/s and 3 vaginals. I have terrible varicose veins on the right leg and vagina area. I am now currently about 19.6 weeks along. I am having a lot of tightening in the stomach area; it really doesn't feel like contractions but I don't know what else it could be. I am really worried. This morning I woke up and it felt like the baby was sinking all the way down; I was afraid to even get out of the bed! What could cause this? My stomach still feels tight. Is this normal?
