Clomid for low progesteroneFrom: KMackin (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 23 May 2001 22:41:50 -0500 (CDT)
Hello, Back in January I suffered a miscarriage at 9 weeks(my first pregnancy). The cause was undetermined (all tests looked ok) but my progesterone levels since then have been low (last test showed 2.7 at 8DPO - others have been higher but not much). However my bbt chart is biphasic, showing a definite rise in temp - also, a opk showed an lh surge so my doc is pretty sure I'm ovulating. But, my period has been starting a few days early (normally a 29 day cycle) not counting 3 or more days of spotting first. My doc's recommendation is to try clomid to stimulate progesterone. My question is whether clomid is the best option for someone who is already ovulating -- and should I have progesterone supplemenation as well? Also, I was diagnosed with ureaplasma -- first round of meds did not kill it -- just finished 5 days of zithromax. Can the ureaplasma be playing a role here? Can't find much info about it. Thanks for any help!
