I know what it's like to be paranoid. If you are worried, you can call Sealy to be assured it meets safety standards. As long as it is firm enough to support a baby )i.e. not soft like down) you should be fine. Make sure it fits well into your crib (no more than finger length between it and the frame of the crib.)
