My sister's 2 month old baby will not sleep during the day unless in her mother's arms...she fights against falling asleep...if she lays her down after she falls asleep...she wakes up a few minutes later...and starts crying.

In the evening she will sleep by herself for several hours (probably 5-6) without waking (probably because she is very tired from not sleeping during the day).

Do you know of any reason why this is...or how she can remedy it...she cannot spend every minute with the baby in her arms...she has to have some time to do other things?
