Methotrexate : Can the impact be reduced / reversedFrom: bijoy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 19 May 2001 15:26:52 -0500 (CDT)
my wife was suspected to have an ectopy and was treated with Methotrexate 4 weeks 3 days from LMP (we had believed that it was detected very early). Two days after the injection the hCG levels had doubled to 1500. At the same time the last USG indicated that the pregnancy is infact in the uterus and not in the tube (the mass detected in the tube was not the foetus). Is it possible that Methotrexate will not have any effect on the foetus ?? Will MT definitely result in an abortion/harm to the baby?
