Do fetal heartbeats really slow down and when? From: anonymous@obgyn.netFri, 18 May 2001 14:35:01 -0500 (CDT)
I will be 35 weeks tomorrow and since about 20 or so weeks the baby's baseline heartrate has always been about 148-155. The last week or so it is ranging baseline in the mid to high 130's-143. I have heard that the hearbeats do slow during pregnancy, I am just wondering what the "average" drop is from second trimester to third? I also posted the other day about my fundal height measuring behind and actually decreasing a week (at 32 weeks it was 32cm at 33 weeks 34 cm, and at 34 weeks went down to 33 cm) and I am now worried that this drop in fundal height has something to do with his drop in heartrate (yes I do need something to worry about) U/S at 34 week appointment showed baby had not enganged and measuring 1 week ahead of schedule with his head measuring two weeks ahead (YIKES) hoping I have nothing to worry about!! Thanks! Julie
