Menstrual Period Stopped after a surgeryFrom: Alice (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 14 May 2001 11:59:19 -0500 (CDT)
I have two questions here: (1) Why have I lost my menstrual period after the surgery and the medication of Danazol? (2) Is it possible to get pregnant through medical assistance when my period is absent? I have problems to get pregnant. My doctor is trying to help me. My doctor did a surgery to remove polyps inside my uterus in August, 2000. After that, she put me on the medicine called Danazol for 3 months to control my endometriosis. Starting from February 2001, I have been on birth control pills to try to bring my menstrual period back. My menstrual period has stopped since the surgery in August 2000. Right now my period is still missing. My doctor has explained that the absence of my period maybe is caused by my hormone levels. She is planning to put me on Serophene after she can make sure my hormone levels are low enough. I am on birth control pills again to bring down the hormone levels. After Serophene, my doctor will do an IUI (intrauterine insemination)to help me to get pregnant even if my period is not coming. I am very worried and anxious. I really hope I can get pregnant. I hope I can get some precious advice. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Hong
