RH Negative QuestionFrom: Anna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 30 Apr 2001 23:24:37 -0500
Thank you doctors, for your time. I know someone who has just miscarried. It was her second miscarriage in the past year I believe, and she was seven weeks along. She is also Rh negative. She lives in the UK and her doctor advised that she doesn't need the (equivalent of the) Rhogam shot because she wasn't past twelve weeks. Here is her original post: "I am "A Rh-" and have had two m/c's. I spoke to the Dr this morning and was told that I didn't need the anti D injection as I was not passed 12 week's. I hope they're right!" My questions: 1.Does she in fact, need the shot? 2.Could not receiving the shot after the first m/c have contributed to the second? 3.If she should become pregnant again, what should the course of treatment be? Again, thank you so much for your hard work and your time.
