Miscarriage QuestionsFrom: Rachel (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 30 Apr 2001 23:08:28 -0500
Thank you doctors, for your time. I host a miscarriage support forum, and one of our members just miscarried within the past two days. It was her second miscarriage in the past year I believe, and she was seven weeks along. She is also Rh negative. She lives in the UK and her doctor advised that she doesn't need the (equivalent of the) Rhogam shot because she wasn't past twelve weeks. I will be posting the reply to this post at our forum, where the information will be helpful to several of our members, so thank you again, in advance. Here is her original post: "I am "A Rh-" and have had two m/c's. I spoke to the Dr this morning and was told that I didn't need the anti D injection as I was not passed 12 week's. I hope there right!" My questions: 1.Does she in fact, need the shot? 2.Could not receiving the shot after the first m/c have contributed to the second? 3.If she should become pregnant again, what should the course of treatment be? Again, thank you so much for your hard work and your time. Sincerely,
