Doctor NOT seeing baby's stomach "full", need answer pleaseFrom: Jason (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 30 Apr 2001 18:23:29 -0700
Thanks in advance for reading this. I did try to search first, but given the problem I wasn't sure what key words to use. With that said, this is my problem. I went in for an ultra-sound at 24 weeks and the doctor said he failed to see the baby's stomach "full". I found out that "full" means he didn't see any amnio fluid in the baby's stomach and saw no "bright spots" on the ultra-sound. He said not to be concerned but to come back in two weeks to check again. Well, today at 26 weeks and 3 days we still failed to see what we needed to. Again, told not to worry and I am to go back in a week for another ultra-sound. If that too shows the tummy not "full" then I am going to have to go have a second opinion at a bigger hospital via a better ultra-sound. Alright, the question! How normal or abnormal is it to not see the baby's stomach full at this time? If the second opinion confirms what my doctor says what does that mean for my baby? I did talk to my doctor but was just looking for some more research to make myself calmer! Jennifer
