Re: Conception with only 1 tube?From: Kristy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 30 Apr 2001 15:04:39 -0500 (CDT)
Hi there....I lost my left tube as well, from a ruptured ectopic. I have since had another child and I am now pregnant with my third. I am 40 years old. My doctor told me that the tubes "float" all over the place searching for the egg. You can ovulate on your left side, but your right tube can float over to snatch the egg. Case in point: I had a friend who had one tube and one ovary left, but they were on *opposite* sides. She had two children even though this was her condition! I had a special x-ray done many years ago where they put dye into your tubes. This was before I lost my left tube. The x-ray didn't show my left tube in the first photo and the doc said it was because it [the tube]was floating around behind my uterus. From the textbooks, you'd think that the tubes just sit there stationary, but they don't. They move all over the place. I thought this was very interesting! I hope you can conceive and that your dreams come true! Love, Kristy
