Ultram

I was wondering if Ultram is any better/worse than codeine for pain during pregnancy? I take tylenol #3 occasionally for bad back pain and pinched nerve. Doesn't really help much though. I have had better luck in the past before i was pregnant with Ultram. I was thinking of asking my OB if I could switch. I know he thinks narcotics are the safest form of pain relief during pregnancy. I read they are both category c, but I know codeine has been around a long time. Any opinions? I am 24 weeks by the way. thanks Liz
