The US is very accurate in determining the age of a pregnancy in the early stages. The HCG can vary widely at any particular stage of pregnancy. They are followed primarily to see if the pregnancy is growing - not to see how far along it is. You really should be relying on the US dates. If there is a question, have your GP call the OB and ask to confirm the measurements.
