Looking for information on recurrance of blood clots while on low-molecular weight heprin while pregnantFrom: Elizabeth (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 21 Apr 2001 17:45:04 -0500 (CDT)
I am a 35 yr-old with a history of a DVT (10 yrs ago) and a bi-lateral PE (last year) which resulted from ovarian hyperstimulation which occured while undergoing IVF. I was able to make it to the retrieval process and have some frozen embryos. I am considering completing the transfer procedure to become pregnant. I have been told that if I do this I will need to be placed on low-molecular weight heprin. I have been seen by an OB/GYN, a Hemotologist (all tests were negative for genetic factors) and a Paranatologist and I am receiving conflicting information on how risky it is for me to go through this procedure/pregnancy. I am looking for information on the risk factor of a recurrance even though I would be on the anti-coagulant. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
