Nerve damage????From: Crystal (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 20 Apr 2001 15:19:21 -0500 (CDT)
On April 11th, 2001 i gave birth to alittle girl, she was 6lbs 11oz. I was given a epidural and everything went fine. After the delivery i regained feeling in my right leg with still a little spot of numbness up above the knee. On my left leg i have numbess in my inner thigh my entire knee cap, and some of my lower calf and alittle above my calf bone. I have seen 8 doctors and each one has a different answer. One says it was the epidural and i have nerve damage and it could take a year to grow back. Another one says it is a stretch injury and that it was because of how i was pushing and i put pressure on the femoral nerve. Another one says that it is the swelling around the nerve. I keep getting the run around, and its one messed up explanation after another. I just want someone to tell me they have seen this before, or know how long this can last. I dont like the idea of having to wait a year for a nerve to grow back. I am scheduled to have a nerve test done in one week, and i dont really know how much longer i can sit and handle this. I went into the hospital perfectly fine and left in poor condition. Please help
