21 Weeks with Frequent Brown/Pink DischargeFrom: DeeDee (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 10 Apr 2001 17:42:41 -0500 (CDT)
Thanks again for this service!!! I am 21 weeks and having brown/pink discharge or spotting. (I was diagnosed with placenta previa at 17 weeks and have been on bedrest since.) I have quite a bit every other day or so. (Not enough for a pad but enough to wet my undies slightly.) A few times, I have seen a pink drop on the toilet paper. That's when I freak. I hardly ever see anything on the t.p., just on the underwear. I have been called my OB and Maternal/Fetal Specialist (who is treating the previa) several times about this. The OB's office is never concerned; they always say that spotting can be normal. The Maternal/Fetal Specialist does get concerned and always has me come right in for an ultrasound. The baby has been great in all of the ultrasounds. Last week, the placenta had even moved about an inch away from my cervix. Anyway, I hate to call every time this spotting happens because it's so frequent. But, at the same time, I want to do everything to protect my baby. Is it true that this can be normal? I really don't know what to do. I'm already on bedrest. Thank you for your time.
