34 weeks Pregnant - WorriedFrom: emily (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 9 Apr 2001 16:29:53 -0500 (CDT)
I am 34 weeks pregnant and very worried. I just found out in an ultrasound that the chord is wrapped around my baby's neck 2 times. I was told to simply monitor fetal movements and to call if I noticed any decrease in activity. Will this help me increase the chances of a healthy child and decrease the risk of complications or stillbirth? I am just worried that I won't catch it in time and the baby will just die and I can do nothing about it. Is there anything more I can do? I also have had kidney problems, and currently have a stent in my left uretur. It calcifies quickly, and I have it replaced every 3 weeks. Previously they were using x-ray (which also worries me) but now they are going to use ultrasounds during the replacement procedures. The anesthesia I recieve for the procedure is a spinal that numbs me from the chest down. Will the frequency of this have any long-term effects? Does my baby really have a chance to be normal? Do I have a chance at normal pregnancies in the future? Will this baby be ok? I appreciate ANY comments or advice or anything. -emily
