Since I began taking this pill 2 months ago, I have become extremely bloated and have gained what I consider a significant amount of weight, which concerns me greatly. I began taking it with the understanding that this may happen; however, I am growing concerned because nothing I am doing (exercising or watching my diet) seems to be helping, although I have effectively controlled my weight with this method for the past two years. In my opinion, even if I am gaining weight from an oral contraceptive, watching my diet and exercising should be enough to squelch this side effect to a manageable degree. What I would like to know is, do these side effects subsided perhaps after the first couple of months, or would it be wise for me to look into another oral contraceptive that won't cause me to be quite bloated and gain wait seemingly consistently to no end? Or perhaps this type of weight gain is common for all OCPs and they are not the right birth control method for me...?
