Micronor Birth Control Pills and Regular MenstruationFrom: Sarah (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 9 Apr 2001 14:10:55 -0500 (CDT)
I have been taking Micronor for 3 years-- My doctor asked me during a recent physical how my periods were on Micronor. I said they were regular--i.e. every 28-30 days or so. She then said this meant that Micronor was not working on me because if I have been on it for 3 years, it should completely stop my period. She said because I get my period each month, it means it is only 50% effective. However, I have read on the pill inserts that it is normal to menstruate on Micronor. My question: Who is right? My Doc. is telling me to switch to estrogen, but it makes me depressed and Micronor has been effective for me up until now... My husband and I hate condoms, he is allergic to spermicide and she will not prescrive an I.U.D. because I want to have another child... Do you have a second opinion?
