delaying period with birth control pills

DH and I are anxious to conceive this next cycle (we've been trying for a long time). Unfortunately, where my cycle is now, he will be out of town when I ovulate. Is it possible to take birth control pills for a week to delay my period so that ovlation will occur when he's home? I've always ovulated 14-18 days after stopping the pill in the past.

Thanks!
