DEPO-PROVERA - during pregnancy - effects on fetus

I have been taking Depo-Provera shots for more than a year, and SURPRISE! I'm pregnant. My last shot was taken during my 5th week of pregnancy. My physicians assured me that there were no risks to the fetus - however, I have since done some research (FDA 1992 indicates risk of birth defects, genital deformity for male & female fetus, etc.). Current studies suggest risks low. WHAT IS THE TRUTH? Is my baby going to be all right? What tests can I do to find out if MY baby is okay? What are the studies based on? Are any of them based on women who have been using Depo-Provera for a period of time - or are they all based on women who were pregnant without knowing it before initiating Depo shots? HELP PLEASE. I'm very worried. I'm now 14 weeks pregnant.
